I got the Combo #3: taco, tostada and enchilada. Everything was delicious, from the salsa verde to the rice and beans. The pastor meat was a little chewy, but it was still flavorful and filling. We left the restaurant stuffed for under $10. PSA: Ricos is no longer BYOB. I was disappointed to be informed that they stopped allowing customers to BYOB about two years ago.

Ricos Tacos Lupe is the type of place where it's all one room and everything is cooked in a corner of the building. You walk out stuffed, satisfied, and a thin layer of grease coating your glasses. You'll also be everyone's favorite person because you'll smell like tacos until you shower and change. But it's so worth it.

Seriously, best place to celebrate Taco Tuesdays!Rico's Taco definitely is a hole in the wall taco joint, but do not let the appearance scare you away. The tacos at their low price are undoubtedly worth it!
This taco joint provides chips and salsa and is too good to pass up. The salsas come in squirt bottles but are unique and flavorful! I ordered three veggie tacos that come with black beans, pico de gallo, guacamole served on corn tortillas. Sounds pretty basic right? That's what I thought, but it was delicious! The corn tortillas were soft and warm, and I could seriously eat those alone.
On Tuesdays, the tacos are $1. Taco Tuesday the right way! And they are making Burrito Thursdays a thing for $2. Definitely a must try place that is not breaking the bank! -

I found myself up in the city a couple weeks ago during midday and texted a friend who worked near there to see if he was free for lunch. He asked where I wanted to go and I told him to choose... hence, my first visit to Ricos Tacos Lupe!
Parking was difficult, and that would likely always be the case... you'd need to see the vicinity for that to make sense, but the options are pretty limited onsite... I'm sure it would be even more so at a high traffic hour.
That being said, I have only positive things to say about my experience at Rico's. Our server was pretty reserved, but attentive. My order was exactly what I expected, and it was delicious! (Steak quesadilla and 2 small tacos; one w/carnitas and one w/al pastor). The whole meal was inexpensive and tasty... a great combination.
My wife and I are transplanted Texans and we love good Tex Mex, but this place isn't that... It's authentic Mexican food in its purest form. Nothing fancy. No pretense. Just good food at a great price. If you're feeling adventurous, make the trek to Ricos. Oh-- and you might want to carry along a shirt for later. When I got back to my office, my boss said "You smell like a burrito" to which I happily replied, "Uh... it was a taco, and it was amazing." ;-) -

Completely forgetting that it was a Tuesday, we stumbled into Ricos Tacos Lupe eager to try some delicious tacos. The best part is tacos are $1 each on Tuesdays.
The exterior and interior of the restaurant are very simple. Service is quick and efficient. They know how to keep a busy restaurant moving, which meant we didn't have to wait too long to be seated.
We ended up ordering queso and chips, two asada, two chicken, two shredded ribs, and a Mexican sausage and marinated pork.
The chips and queso arrived quickly. I loved the flavours of the queso, which was sweeter than I'd had before. There was also three kinds of salsa on the table, which we helped ourselves to. A small station to the side of the room had pickled jalapeños and some other sauce on it.
Ten minutes later, our tacos arrived. Each taco was delicious, although I feel like the flavours could have been more pronounced in all the meats.
I definitely recommend eating here. The value and quality are hard to beat!
